Chemical composition of stainless steel sheet:
Measuring and cutting tool steel, low alloy tool steel is commonly used, with high hardenability, and high tempering stability. 9SiCr alloy tool steel can be used in the manufacture of complex shape, small deformation, high wear resistance, low speed cutting tools such as drills, thread tools, reamer, die, tap, screw plate and rollers etc..
High carbon alloy tool steel has good toughness, good temper stability, small deformation during heat treatment. The carbide in the steel has the advantages of uniform distribution, not easy to precipitate carbide net, and is easy to be normalized and eliminated. However, the compressive strength and wear resistance are insufficient, and the workability is poor. When the residual carbon content of the steel is 0.6%-0.7%, the thermal sensitivity of the surface layer increases due to the decrease of carbide. After normal quenching, the surface hardness can still reach 60-62HRC, but the flexural strength is decreased by 40%-50%. The grain size of the surface layer is 7, and the core is of grade 10.
The steel has good forging performance, because it is easy to be removed, it needs to be heated in a neutral atmosphere or a protective atmosphere furnace. By applying the heat treatment, the microstructure can be obtained, and the process can be simplified, saving time and energy. It has good machinability and ideal heat treatment.
