Application prospect of aluminum alloy in automobile industry. Based on A125.8Si, the microstructure and properties of aluminum alloy containing cobalt were studied by adding appropriate cobalt elements (0%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7%, 0.9%, 1.1%, 1.5%) to Al Si alloy. The results show that the properties of Al-Si alloy can be improved by adding cobalt. However, with the increase of cobalt content, its properties do not increase linearly, but fluctuate in a wavy pattern. The Al-Si alloy has the best performance when the cobalt content is 0.3% and 1.1%, and the fracture strength reaches 277MPa, while the fracture strength decreases obviously at 0.7%, and the fracture strength is only 222MPa.
