1.6580 steel is a tempered steel, also known as alloy steel. It consists of the following components: 0.26%-0.34% carbon (C), 0.40%-0.70% silicon (Si), 0.50%-0.80% manganese (Mn), 1.80%-2.20% nickel (Ni), 0.80%-1.10% molybdenum (Mo), 0.020%-0.035% sulfur (S), 0.015%-0.040% phosphorus (P), and residual chromium (Cr).
1.6580 steel has excellent strength and toughness and is suitable for high strength and high stress applications. It has good fatigue resistance and high wear resistance. Therefore, it is often used to manufacture parts that require higher strength and toughness, such as bearings, retarders, gears, motor vehicle parts and drive shafts.
1.6580 steel tempering refers to the process of rapid cooling after heating to high temperature, and then heating treatment at medium temperature. The hardness, strength and toughness of 30CrNiMo8 were improved by tempering treatment. By tempering treatment, 30CrNiMo8 can achieve tensile strength of up to 1000MPa.
