The chemical composition of 30CrNiMo8 contains 0.26-0.34% carbon content. The Mn content of the material is 0.5-0.8%, which gives the material a hardness. The content of P is reduced to 0.025% and S to 0.035% max, because excessive P and S will damage the quality of the steel and may cause the alloy steel to break under low stress. There is a high chromium content of 1.8-2.2%, which adds additional yield and stretching during heat treatment.
