7020 aluminum is a 7000-series aluminum alloy: the main alloying addition is zinc and it is formulated for primary forming into wrought products. 7020 is the Aluminum Association (AA) designation for this material. In European standards, it will be given as EN AW-7020. H17 is the British Standard (BS) designation. A97020 is the UNS number. Additionally, the EN chemical designation is AlZn4,5Mg1. And the AFNOR (French) designation is A-Z5G.
It originally received its standard designation in 1972.
It can have the lowest tensile strength among the 7000-series alloys in the database.
