Because the material ductility is very good, 188 alloy can be cold for processing. Because the alloy has the characteristics of rapid cold hardening, in the processing of complex parts need to be intermittent annealing process. Whether it is hot or cold parts are required to do annealing and rapid cooling, so as to restore the performance of materials.
The material has good limited welding characteristics, can be hand-welded, can also be used automatic welding methods, including TIG, MIG, electron beam welding, resistance welding.
3. Heat treatment
Forged 188 alloy is usually supplied in a solid state. The conventional heat treatment method is 1175 ° C +/- 14 ° C solution treatment and then quickly cooled or water quenched to achieve optimum performance. Annealing at temperatures below the solution temperature results in some carbide precipitation, which affects the properties of the 188 alloy.
