Features of Use
In Al-Si alloy, the toughness and mechanical properties, especially the ductility, can be greatly improved by changing the silicon phase from the rough sheet form to the fibrous eutectic structure. Aluminum-strontium intermediate alloy is an efficient and widely accepted "modification" method for aluminum-silicon alloys.
