SKH-51 belongs to high speed steel with wear resistance. It is a high speed steel profile obtained by isostatic pressing treatment of atomized powder in hot state to produce dense steel billet, and then through hot deformation such as forging and rolling. SKH-51 high speed steel is a medium alloy content tool steel with good machinability and serviceability, which is widely used in modern industrial manufacturing (aerospace, automobile, ship, electronic home appliances, etc.).

 

Application and use of SKH-51

 

SKH-51 high speed steel is widely used in: twist anchor, broach, tapping, milling, cutting, reamer, punching, forming, stamping, cold forging die, drawing die, cutting tool and other occasions, is a wide range of applications of general high speed steel. SKH-51 is particularly suitable for the blanking and forming of thin processed materials, or for mold failure (due to mixed abrasive wear and adhesive wear, or just abrasive wear, and plastic deformation of the surface).

SKH-51 heat treatment process

 

SKH-51 is soft annealed at 850-900ºC for 3 hours in a protective gas, then cooled gently by 10ºC to 700ºC per hour, followed by air cooling, de-stressed at 600ºC to 700ºC for about 2 hours, then cooled gently to 500ºC. Summary of SKH-51

 

SKH-51 high speed steel does not damage the high temperature characteristics because it only increases or decreases the carbon content. It can significantly change the properties of steel continuously. It is resistant to 600ºC high temperature and is not easy to soften, and has good red hardness. SKH-51 high speed steel has excellent toughness, high strength, high wear resistance, good pressure resistance and high temperature strength.
