Aluminum-Iron Intermediate Alloy Aluminium Iron Alloy Aluminum-Iron Alloy Alfe10 Aluminum and Iron Alloy Alfe20Fe-aluminum alloy is composed of iron and aluminum (about 6% ~ 16% range) as the main elements, with high resistivity, low density, high hardness, good wear resistance, good vibration and impact resistance, so the device made of Fe-aluminum alloy eddy current loss is small, light weight. However, when the content of aluminum exceeds 10%, the ferric aluminum alloy becomes brittle and the plasticity decreases, which brings difficulties to the processing. The saturation magnetic induction strength of the alloy decreases with the increase of aluminum content.

Ferroaluminum alloy is another kind of soft magnetic alloy with high electromagnetic properties, which is mainly composed of iron and aluminum (6%-16%) and does not contain valuable elements. It is also applied in micromotors.

Common iron aluminum alloy can be cold rolled or hot rolled strip, the thickness of the piece 0.1~0.5mm. Its main characteristics are high resistivity and hardness, low density (6.5~7.2g/mm3), good vibration and impact resistance, its magnetic properties are not as sensitive to stress as iron nickel alloys. The core made of ferro-aluminum alloy sheet has low eddy current loss, light weight and good neutron radiation resistance. When the content of aluminum exceeds 16%, the iron aluminum alloy becomes brittle, the plasticity weakens, and the mechanical processing is difficult. The increase of aluminum content also reduces the saturation magnetic induction intensity. The core made of ferro-aluminum alloy is the same as the core of ferro-nickel alloy, which needs the final high-temperature annealing treatment to eliminate the stress and improve the magnetic properties.

Commonly used Fe-aluminum alloy models are 1J6, 1J12 and 1J16. The last number in the model is the aluminum content. With the increase of the aluminum content, the permeability and resistivity of the material become higher, while the saturation magnetic induction intensity decreases.
 

The magnetic properties of ferroalloy edit broadcast

Fe-aluminum alloy is a solid solution structure of aluminum dissolved in α-iron, with a body-centered cubic structure, which can form two different types of ordered phase structure Fe3Al and FeAl. Al content < 9.6wt.% No order-disorder transition; When 9.6 ~ 19.4wt.%, Fe3Al orderly -- disordered transition exists.

Low aluminum (< 6wt.%) alloy is similar to Fe-Si alloy of the same quantity. It is easy to work, has good corrosion resistance, does not exist ordering-disorder transition, magnetic stability, and is not sensitive to stress. The DC magnetism of 11wt.% alloy is similar to that of medium Ni Permo alloy, and the magnetic sensitivity is better than that of industrial pure iron below 800A/ m. The 12wt.% alloy has an ordnance to disorder transition, the magnetic anisotropy constant tends to zero, the magnetostrictive coefficient is high, the saturation magnetic induction intensity is high (1.20T), the resistivity is high (100μΩ·cm), and the magnetic properties are related to the degree of order.

The 16wt.% alloy has both FeAl and Fe3Al order-to-disorder transition, and the magnetic crystal anisotropy and magnetostrictive coefficient are low in disordered condition, and high permeability can be obtained. Adding 2-3% Mo can further improve the resistivity and permeability, and reduce the saturation magnetic induction intensity. Low aluminum alloy used as micro motor, solenoid valve, magnetic shielding material. High aluminum alloy can partially replace Fe-Ni Permo alloy, used as if frequency transformer, transducer head and so on.
