2024 aluminum alloy is a kind of high-strength duralumin, belonging to the Al-Cu-Mg series of aluminum alloys, mainly used to make a variety of high-load parts and components, can be strengthened by heat treatment, and has moderate plasticity in quenched and just-quenched states.

Main features and application: This is a kind of high strength duralumin, can be strengthened by heat treatment, in the quenching and hardening state of medium plasticity, spot welding is good, with gas welding when the formation of intergranular cracks, the alloy after quenching and cold hardening its machinability is good, after annealing machinability is low: Corrosion resistance is not high, often using anodic oxidation treatment and painting method or surface coated with aluminum layer to improve its corrosion resistance. Mainly used for the production of various high-load parts and components (but not including stamping parts forgings) such as the skeleton parts on the aircraft, skin, frame, wing rib, wing beam, rivets and other working parts below 150ºC.
