1.4112 steel contains 0.9% carbon and 18% chromium. High hardness, i.e. 58-60 HRC and excellent corrosion resistance make this steel an ideal choice for surgical blades, stainless steel knives and tableware.
High carbon steel and sufficient additions of chromium, vanadium and molybdenum make the edge of this steel more durable than other blade steels. In addition to edge retention and durability, the steel is highly resistant to corrosion. Common applications include razor blades, surgical blades, cutlery and other items.

1.4112 Highly rust resistant
Stainless steel is typically used in outdoor applications where the chance of corrosion and rust is high. For hunter knives, the main tool used is stainless steel. Stainless steel protects against any oxidative erosion caused by layers of chromium, nickel and molybdenum.
